How to pop up your Vietnamese Silk Lantern

Here's a quick and easy guide to help you get your silk lantern ready in no time!

But first things first - please take caution: Do not ever pull or bend the steel.

Step 1: Check the Bamboo Frame

Before opening your lantern, spin your silk lantern around to ensure the bamboo frame is properly positioned outwards. If it's popped back, gently pop it back into position toward you. This step helps prepare the lantern for easy expansion.

Step 2: Expand the Lantern

Hold the tail end of the closed lantern in a fixed position, preferably between your knees and firmly push down evenly using both hands on each side allowing the steel to slide into place. Use your fingers to guide the steel into the grooves on either side.

Step 3: Secure the Frame

Push the steel frame into the designated slots and lock the lantern into place. This ensures your lantern stays open and maintains its shape.
